Channel Zero Season 3 Quick Thoughts

Channel Zero is one of the more difficult series for me to talk about in a spoiler-free manner so I'll simply emphasize on how incredible of a horror series it truly is. Honestly, if you're a big fan of the genre, and you've been tinkering with the idea of exploring television as a new outlet as opposed to exclusively looking towards the theaters, might I suggest immediately diving into SyFy's Creepypasta inspired anthology series. That's right. It's an Horror anthology series which means you can comfortably pick and choose which season looks or sounds the most appealing to you.

After just finishing the 3rd season which (minor spoiler here) takes on an Alice in Wonderland direction with its themes, I can happily say that the series has successfully hit yet another one out of the park. The story chronicling around the main protagonists dealing with their own dark and complicated family history, as well as the twisted and fantastically sinister world that gets thrown into their lives took the audience on a hellish roller coaster ride from beginning to end. It's as if someone took the classic Alice in Wonderland story and introduced Hellriaser into the mix while dabbling in some Rosemary's Baby and Don't Look Now as icing on the cake. Also, did I mention Rutger Hauer plays a crucial part in the story? Just a little extra boost of encouragement for genre fans out there.

The viewing experience for Season 3 resulted in many nights where I'd yell out "What the hell was that?!" at the screen for all the right reasons. There's more than a satisfying share of nightmare fuel imagery accompanied with a legitimately intriguing mystery in regards to the absolutely bizarre world that our characters venture through. When it comes down to it really, Channel Zero is a prime example of why Horror can most definitely find a comfy little place on television to go absolutely insane in the best way possible.

So, if you're a lover of the genre who may or may not have been nitpicking about the lack of solid films flooding the theaters, might I highly suggest pointing your attention towards the small screen as I'm sure you'll find something noteworthy within the Channel Zero series. As for Season 3 specifically, prepare to look dumbfounded or disgusted for several minutes at a time.

Rating: 9/10
